Florida Legal Size Limits
A permit is generally required if your load exceeds any of the following:
Maximum Legal Width
- 8 feet 6 inches (102 inches)
Maximum Legal Height
- 13 feet 6 inches
Maximum Legal Length
Single Vehicle
- 40 feet
Semitrailer
- 48 feet on most roads
- Some routes allow longer trailers under specific conditions
Truck Tractor + Semitrailer Combination
- No overall length limit on designated roads, but trailer limits still apply
Double Trailers
- Subject to approved combination limits and routes
