You need a Florida 10-day fuel permit when your commercial vehicle operates in Florida and you do not have valid International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) credentials. The permit allows temporary legal operation for fuel tax purposes.
You need a Florida 10-day fuel permit if:
- Your truck is not registered under IFTA
- You are an out-of-state motor carrier entering Florida
- Your vehicle does not carry a valid IFTA license and decals
- You occasionally operate in Florida without permanent fuel tax registration
- Your IFTA account is inactive, suspended, or pending
- You are operating a newly purchased commercial vehicle before obtaining IFTA credentials
